 Saturday May 17 and Sunday May 18 2008, North Berkeley, CA. Proceeds from the Himalayan Fair are used to sponsor a variety of grass roots projects in Himalayan countries.  There will be a variety of cultural performances from Idia, Nepal, Pakistan, and more. As well as the live entertainment, come experience the cultures of the Himalaya's and central Asia, there will be handicrafts and cuisine as well. September 27, East Sussex, U.K.  Marlin Financial Services is hosting a Charity Golf Day to benefit Kham Aid Foundation's greenhouse program.

April 14 and 21,  Santa Barbara, California.  The Brooks Institute opens a multimedia exhibition, CHINA: A WILL TO RISE featuring photographs taken by Sarah Curtiss.  Sarah stayed for five weeks at Wayao village, site of a current Kham Aid cultural heritage conservation project,  The grand opening of the multimedia presentation will take place on April 14th at 7pm at the Lobero Theatre, immediately followed by a reception displaying Sarah's photographs (anong others) at the Cota Street Campus and Gallery, located at 27 E. Cota Street in Santa Barbara. A second screening and documentary opening will be held at Brooks Institute’s Ventura Campus, 5301 Ventura Avenue on April 21.

Golfing teeing off at Slinfold Park Golf & Country Club with the clubhouse in the backgroundJuly 10, West Sussex, England: Charity Golf Tournament  hosted by Marlin Financial Services will raise money for our school greenhouse program.  The event will be held at the Slinfold Golf Club in Horsham and will include breakfast, a round of golf (first tee at 10.00am) and a barbeque lunch following the golf which will include a raffle draw. We are looking for teams of 3 who will pay £200 for the day, the majority of which will be donated to Kham Aid. Any donations for raffle prizes would also be very welcome. We can accommodate individuals who cannot raise a team. Our objective is to have 40 golfers and including the raffle raise a total of £2,500. Contact David Page David.page(at)marlinfs.com.

July 23 - Aug 6, in Kham.  Five fearless cyclists will bike from Lijiang to Kangding to raise funds for school greenhouses.  For more info, see Ride for Green

Aug 1-5, Litang Horse Festival, Litang, Kham. Visit the Kham Aid tent, enjoy a respite from the hubbub of the festival, chat with our field staff, pick up information about our programs.  Our tent will have great Western amenities such as coffee, internet service, and a guitar.  We'll also be selling our exclusive HORSE FESTIVAL T-SHIRT.

Aug 7, Chengdu.  Ride for Green Party  Celebrate the achievements of the Ride for Green cyclists and support better nutrition for Tibetan schoolchildren.  Enjoy the beatbox beats of veejay/rapper Tenzin Gyaltsen.  Bid on the high-quality, road-tested, Kham-spattered mountain bikes that will be up for auction thanks to our sponsor Mongoose.    Place: Shamrock Bar and Restaurant.  Time: 6pm. Aug 27, in Costa Mesa, CA.  Pam Logan will speak on women's lives in Tibet at a fundraising luncheon for Kham Aid's girls' scholarship program. Other event highlights will be a fashion show, silent auction, and raffle of a splash-out luxury weekend for two in Costa Mesa with shopping spree at Fashion Island.  This lunch is sponsored by ZONTA of Newport Harbor.

July 20 - Aug 7, Join Dave Bleyle for a special tour of Kham, including a visit to the Litang Horse Festival.  This trip, which is 0rganized by the Northwest China Council, will benefit Kham Aid Foundation program

February 17, in Portland Oregon.  The Northwest China Council hosts Pam Logan, who will give a presentation about the ancient Kingdom of Dege.


2004

November 13, in Pasadena, California.  The Pacific Asia Museum will open the first ever exhibition of Tibetan furniture, and hold a symposium. Speakers will include Kham Aid director Ruth Hayward and president Pam Logan .  Please check the website of the Pacific Asia Museum for details.
