Do you want to make a career out of helping Tibetans?
When it comes to field work, our policy is to hire Tibetans (or Chinese) whenever possible, so workers who come from overseas either must possess a skill not found among the local population, or must be able to cover their own travel expenses somehow. In rare cases travel expenses can be covered by grant monies, if the worker is unusually well-qualified and/or critical to the project. Chinese and/or Tibetan language skills are a big, big plus. A list of specific volunteer positions is posted here. If you are looking for a paid job, please see this notice. For those who want to help from home, we're especially looking for people in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Beijing, and Hong Kong, but other locations are possible. Skills we are particularly looking for at the moment:
If you would like to take on
any of these roles, please send your
resume by email or post (no faxes please) to our Los
Angeles headquarters. Attach a cover letter explaining
what work you propose to do, what time you have available
to do the work, and summarize any related experience. |
