Kham Aid Foundation is proud to highlight the contributions of our growing roster of native Tibetan staff.

Zangkar Jamyang, Director of Education Programs, comes to Kham Aid from the Aba grasslands, specifically Hongyuan county.  He is trilingual, and has an impressive record of achievement working on education and community development programs for a variety of international organizations.
Doka (right side of picture), a.k.a. Gao Zhengming is half-Tibetan, a native of Ganzi County. Now officially retired from his government job, he works on our Better Schools and Medical programs.
Dhayong is a native of Ganzi County, born to a large rural family there.  From an early age she won high academic honors, eventually including a full scholarship to university where she earned a Master of Arts in  Tibetan language and culture.  By day she vice section chief at the Tourism Bureau of Ganzi Prefecture, on evenings and weekends she directs Kham Aid's handicraft program.
Adrol is a native of Batang County in south Kham.  Taking a big risk, he traveled from Batang two days to Kangding on the rumor that Kham Aid was seeking workers. The job that he sought was already filled, but another position had just opened, working on our handicraft project in Tagong.  Now Adrol manages our Handicraft Training Center as well as construction skills training course that Kham Aid is offering to Tagong herdsmen.
Guree was born on grassland of Serda county to a family of herdsmen. He has twelve siblings, of whom only he and one brother received an education. (the brother entered a monastery).  He attended middle school in Serda and then matriculated at Kangding Normal School to study English, graduating on June 20th,  2006 with the 9th highest score on the Tibetan exam among 3,000 test-takers.   Five days later he joined Kham aid Foundation as assistant director of Education Programs. His hobby is writing poetry and he has posted more than 40 Tibetan poems on the Web. (see www.chekha.blog.sohu.com) He says, "I like this (NGO) work very much, because can help many people."
