Re-forestation at Oro Village: One Year Later
In 2002 we returned to Oro (Orlong) Village and put in 10,000 more seedlings. We also inspected the trees that were planted last year, and checked on their condition. Program director Shiyin Siou and Kham Aid field director Wu Bangfu performed a partial census, to determine the survival rate of our seedlings. The results they got were encouraging: 90%. This is due to the excellent choice of planting sites, and the fine work of the villagers who did the actual planting. This year we found that many of our seedlings have grown prodigiously. In the photos below, you'll see a selection of trees from our Kham Aid Forest.
