Babang is a township within Dege County. As an adjunct to the major art conservation program at
nearby Baiya Monastery, a small team was dispatched here to
conserve some murals at Babang that were adhering to a damaged wall. The
work is described in the book Tibetan
Rescue by Kham Aid Foundation founder Pamela Logan. Our Books for Schools program has provided free Tibetan language books to Babang township school, located in the valley below the monastery.
