BAIYA/PEWAR return to the map

|
Baika is a tiny village along the Pe Chu (river), half way between
Babang/Palpung Monastery and the river's mouth at the Yangtze. In 1998, we
completed a major art conservation program at
Baiya Monastery, located in this village. The program is the subject of a book, Tibetan
Rescue, by Kham Aid Foundation founder Pamela Logan. Our Books for Schools program has provided free Tibetan language books to Baiya School, which is NOT located in the same village as the monastery; rather it is located at the headquarters of Baiya Township where the Pe Chu meets the Yangtze.
