Midwife Training for Village Women

Women trained so far as midwives: 79

Number of Tibetan women who have gained access to midwife care, thanks to our program: more than 15,000

Average cost of the program: $1,500 per midwife, or less than $6.50 per woman served.

The pay-off: reduced infant and maternal mortality, for a cost of only $8.40 per life-year saved!
