Seven cash-free ways to support Kham Aid's mission and help the people of Kham

Even if you're poor of purse, you can still help. Here are seven ways to get involved - for free.

  1. Clean out your garage.   You can sell your old, unwanted stuff on eBay and donate the proceeds to Kham Aid.  See Missionfish.com for details.

  2. Change your telephone service.  If you change your telephone service provider to Vonage and identify Kham Aid as the one who referred you, we get free telephone service for two months and you will probably save money, too, because Vonage service costs only $24.99/month for unlimited calling in the US and Canada.  You may even be able to keep the same telephone number you had before. If you’re not in the US then you can get a US number that will ring you in your own country.  (You will need broadband internet access for Vonage to work) See www.vonage.com for more information about their service, then email us at khamaid(at)khamaid.org before you sign up so we can refer you through Vonage's system.

  3. Get your friends to volunteer.  They don't have to go to Kham to help - they can help right from home.  Check out our volunteer openings to see the sorts of skills we need, then recruit your friends to fill the positions.

  4. Volunteer yourself.  A few hours a week working at home or in your community can make a big difference.  It helps to be in Kham, China, or southern California but some positions can be filled by people in other locations.  Check volunteer openings.

  5. Take our tourism survey.  Even if you never plan to visit Kham, your opinions and preferences can help us help Tibetans figure out how to cater to visitors.  It will take only a few minutes.  See www.khamaid.org/survey to start.

  6. Network.  Is your employer, church, or local Rotary Club looking for a project? Perhaps they’d like to sponsor a Tibetan child or pay for a wheelchair to go to a disabled person in Kham.  Maybe your local television station would like to broadcast a story about Kham Aid’s work composed of footage from our video library.  See this page for leaflets and brochures you can print out and show to people in your community, or write to pam(at)khamaid.org to find out which Kham Aid projects are most media-ready.

  7. Link to our website.  Help us get the word out about our work by steering traffic to www.khamaid.org

And if none of these appeal....well...you can still always send money.
