BOOKING INFORMATION 
Volunteer Trip to Conserve Tibetan Buddhist Art

COST

Cost of trip $1800 - this includes all travel, lodging, and food starting and ending in Chengdu.


TO BOOK

Each group will be limited to a maximum of ten volunteers.

Fill out the application form and send it to khamaid@khamaid.org or to our postal address: Kham Aid Foundation, 900 Wilshire Blvd, #1210, Los Angeles, CA 90017.  You can also fax the form to +1 626 628-3109. We will evaluate your suitability for the project and respond within two weeks.

If you are approved, then you need to send $500 to reserve your place.  If you change your mind later, this money is refundable only if a substitute is found. 

The balance of $1300 is due two months before the start date of your trip.  If it is not received by this date, then we may give away your space to someone on the waiting list.


WAIVER, MEDICAL DISCLOSURE FORM, AND RULES FOR FIELD WORKERS

All participants in the program will be required to fill out and sign this form.  Please read it carefully before sending your deposit.


PAYMENT

We accept checks drawn on US bank accounts, Visa and Mastercard, and Paypal.   (Sorry, we don't take American Express).  For check or credit card payment, fill out the relevant portion on the application form.  To use Paypal click on the link below:

AIR TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS TO CHENGDU

Contact a travel agent or book your ticket on the Internet. One useful website for China tickets is www.flychina.comChengdu is an international airport with connections to Hong Kong, Singapore, Kathmandu, Bangkok, Seoul, and Amsterdam. Most people flying to Chengdu from North America will probably land in Beijing and then continue on a Chinese domestic flight.

If you provide your arrival information to us, we will send someone to the Chengdu airport to meet you.


CHINESE VISA

It is your responsibility to procure a Chinese tourist visa valid for the period of the trip.  Contact the Chinese embassy or consulate nearest you.  You do not need to apply for a special Tibet travel permit - we will handle this for you.
